The 40th Annual General Assembly of the European Olympic Committees (EOC) will be held in Sochi between November 22 and 25. Russia was chosen as the host of the General Assembly in honor of the 100th anniversary of the Russian Olympic Committee.

A mascot competition started last year by the 2014 Sochi Olympics Organization Committee has ended. We cannot show sympathy to the 4 selected mascots among 12 charming finalists because they help to conceal the genocide that killed many of our ancestors and expelled most of the rest from our motherland, where we had once lived free. It does not matter how Krasnaya Polyana (Kbaada), which is the Olympic village that took its name from the blood spilled on it, is decorated. It also does not matter how the organizers cast dust in the world’s eyes. For we, Circassians spread all over the world, are the real proof of a bloody past. No matter where we live, we will stand together against these lies!

One Design from us!

We are against the Olympic games which will take place in spite of the appeal we built through signatures and letters during the candidacy period of Sochi. We recently added a new component to this awareness campaign against the harm committed to the environment, history, identity and memory: We have started a competition in order to choose the best design for the Sochi Olympics from among the freedom loving people of this world including Circassians in homeland and Diaspora.

Subject: A logo, mascot or graphic design which captures the bloody history of Sochi and the cruelty carried out against Circassians to be sent to the Sochi Olympics Committee and used in the No Sochi 2014 campaign.

Aim: To provide visual material to the international campaign we implemented and also support it in order to bring historical facts to the attention of world public opinion.

Third Prize: 100 USD

Prestige Prize:  Designs that receive the first three prizes will be used in the May 21 Genocide Protest this year and all Nosochi2014 activities.

הצהרת הוועדה 'לא לסוצ'י 2014'

אנו, חברי הועדה המארגנת את הקמפיין 'לא לאולימפיאדת סוצ'י 2014', מגנים בתוקף את משחקי החורף האולימפיים של שנת 2014 אשר אמורים להתקיים בסוצ'י. אנו מבקשים מהעולם ומהוועד האולימפי הבינלאומי לשלול מרוסיה את המועמדות לאירוח המשחקים האולימפיים בסוצ'י מתוך התבססות על כך שסוצ'י מהווה את המקום לרצח העם הצ'רקסי.

לפני שהוועד האולימפי הבינלאומי (IOC) הגיע להחלטתו, נעשו כל המאמצים ליידע אותו לגבי דאגותינו העתידיים בנוגע להשלכות החברתיות-פוליטיות והסביבתיות בבחירה של סוצ'י כעיר המארחת, ומתוך כך ביקשנו מהוועד האולימפי הבינלאומי לפעול באחריות ולדחות כל החלטה אשר תגרום לנזק בלתי הפיך לא רק לסביבה ולזכויות האדם, אלא גם לדימוי הציבורי של כל התנועה האולימפית.
